jello cookies

Preheat your oven to 350.

Before you begin, have 4 small packages of Jello (You may select any 4 kinds you want) You won't need these until the very end.

Beat in mixer until creamy:

1 Stick of Salted Butter
1 Cup Sugar

Beat until it is fluffy and light. Add:

1 Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Gradually beat in:

3 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

Separate the dough into 4 equal sections and add:

2 Tablespoons of Jello onto each section

Kneading the dough by hand is much easier because you have to roll them into balls anyways, so your hands will get messy.
For a brighter color of cookie, add a few drops of food coloring. This is only advised for the appearance.
Shape the dough into balls and roll them in excess Jello powder. Place them 2 inches apart on cookie sheet, and slightly flatten with the bottom of the bowl.
Bake for 8-10 minutes and let cool for another 2 before placing onto wax paper to cool completely.

Don't make these cookies if you want a dessert. They are cool to look at and make, but the actual taste is sort of disgusting. Mostly people think chocolate or peanut butter when they think of cookies, so this is sort of a let down when you take the first bite.  When I made them I used Lemon, Orange, Cherry, and Lime. The last three were not that bad, actually the Lime were not all that gross. Lemon, disgusting. On another note, when I originally made these, I didn't add food coloring, like they recommended. I would highly, highly, suggest doing this so the cookies are a more vibrant color and more visually appealing.

Good luck, that's all I'm going to say.

  1. I have never heard of jello cookies, but I have had jello cake which is amazing and pretty simple to create. Though I have never personally created it myself.
